Some quiet days + Crossfit 168 review

So the last few days have been quite quiet. And to be honest - I’ve needed it. The intro week was so busy and we jammed ALOT of stuff in. So when we got back from Port Stephens, we went out for the evening. I had a really good night - I didn’t spend a penny on drinks and danced for a while too. The next day we headed to the office for a travel talk, and a chance to book any activities. Unfortunately, many of us felt that if we didnt book anything, we were looked on unfavourably. Many of us wanted to shop around and see if there were any other deals going, and some had no plans made whatsoever so didn’t want to book anything. It was quite sad and a bit of a low point of the trip if I’m being totally honest. We then had a totally free afternoon on Sunday so I spent it wandering around and exploring. I visited Chinatown and walked all the way to Broadway and back. It felt good to get out by myself and have some time to myself. I then met my group and we had a chilled Sunday evening wat

I’ve been here a week!!

Oops, I’ve been so busy with all the fun stuff I haven’t had chance to write and tell you all what I’ve been up to!  So Wednesday we all met up at the Oz Intro office for a talk on the travel opportunities in Australia, especially along the east coast. We then went to a boat and had a cruise around Sydney Harbour. We stopped and jumped into the sea (so cold!) and had a BBQ on the boat. It was so nice and so warm, and the scenery was beautiful - made me feel very lucky to be here. Thursday we headed to Bondi again. But this time, we done the first half of the coastal walk from Bondi-Coogee. We were even lucky enough to watch a humpback whale and it’s baby breach and jump out of the water. Now minding they’re now at the end of the whale season, we were incredible lucky to see them. It was fantastic! The walk was so beautiful too and this ended up with another BBQ, my first experience of kangaroo meat (yum!) and a game of rounders on the beach.  Friday, we had an early start. We ch

Day 4

So I totally forgot to mentioned that yesterday I got to train! It was so hard. My body was completely ruined. Still jetlagged, not eaten properly, some alcoholic beverages in my system..... man, it was horrible. But this morning, when I went back, I felt so much better. Not 100% but some of my strength was back. It’s a busy box, with a new wod starting every 30 mins. From my two wods so far, it seems to go like this: Run to warm up (I HATE running.) Strength work from the rig (30 mins) Cardio work (15 mins) So this morning we did 4x10 push press, followed by 10xc2b which I scaled down to 6 eccentric holds. Then followed by 4 rounds of 12 cal assault bike, 10x box jumps and 25(!!!!!) DB Thrusters which I completed a little shy of the RX at 12kg. Back to Base where we met and walked around Sydney. Went to the bank and got access to my money finally and sorted out my Oz number. Then we got to go jet boating around Sydney Harbour. It was INSANE. I had such a good time. Got c

Day 3 - Bondi beach

Hello! So today we headed off to Bondi beach on the bus. Public transport here works like London where you load money onto a card and use that instead of money. So we grabbed a bus and headed to the beach. It is SO beautiful. I’m not even apologising for the photos on Facebook. It was genuinely that beautiful. So we had a game of football, had a swim and came back to the hostel ready for our intro week to start. Laters :)

Day 1-2

Hello everyone! Thanks for everyone’s super kind messages! I thought I’d make this up so you can all see what I’m up to.  So I arrived approx 11am Sydney time Saturday AM (so 1am British time). The flight was super long and my body was so confused to what was going on. I was taken to my hostel (Base Sydney) and met up with some people from my Ozintro group. The rest of yesterday was a complete write off as we were so tired, and ended up in bed at 9pm! This morning we went to Darling Harbour and grabbed some breakfast at Pancakes on the Rocks. They were AMAZING. The biggest pancakes I’ve seen. I had chocolate and orange segments and I was stuffed. So good! We then walked around Darling Harbour then to the Botanical Gardens. These were beautiful and the smell was completely insane. We also got some brilliant views of the bridge and Opera house. The weather was beautiful but soon turned to torrential rain… we got soaked! We then walked to Paddy’s market and back to the hostel throu
